September 29, 2019 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Dr. Donna Seger of the Salem State History Department will give an illustrated presentation on the Remond family of Salem, including John and Nancy Remond and their 8 children. The Remonds were the resident caterers of Hamilton Hall in the middle of the 19th century. A short tour will follow, including the room where The Remonds prepared feasts for such dignitaries as Nathaniel Bowditch, and the Marquis de Lafayette. nLearn more here. n Source: https://www.salem.org/event/the-remond-family-of-hamilton-hall-and-salems-african-american-community-in-the-nineteenth-century/2019-09-29/
