And why was Hammond absent during the first year of construction\, entrusting oversight of the project to one of the Hammond Research Laboratory’s engineers? \nJoin us as Collections Director Beth Welin takes us on a fascinating look back at 1926 as we explore the personal\, professional\, and historical events that shaped Hammond’s life during this pivotal year. Discover how construction of his extraordinary home and laboratory unfolded\, the people who helped bring his vision to life\, and the remarkable story behind one of Cape Ann’s most iconic landmarks. \nMuseum members and VIP guests enjoy complimentary admission.\nA $15 fee applies to the general public. \nReservations are required. DESCRIPTION:When the sun goes down\, the Museum feels like another world. \nExplore the shadowed halls and candlelit Courtyard\, where ancient Roman sarcophagi stand among 15th-century French storefronts and centuries-old stonework. Search for hidden ravens\, wander through rooms filled with medieval and Renaissance treasures\, and let the flickering candlelight transform the Museum into the perfect setting for Halloween. \nCome in costume. Bring your camera. And prepare to see the Museum in a whole new light.\nOr perhaps\, in this case\, a whole new darkness. \nGuests should plan at least 60 minutes to explore the grounds and galleries of this historic museum. This event is expected to sell out. We strongly encourage carpooling with friends or using a ride-share service. At nearly a century\, the museum and castle grounds are not handicapped accessible. This program is not intended for those under 13 years of age. \nWe recommend arriving 10 minutes early to allow enough time for the walk from the parking lot down to the museum\, then for the check-in process. Unfortunately\, we are unable to accommodate late arrivals. If you miss the start of your timed session\, you will not be admitted at another time. Please note: all ticket sales are final\, refunds are not offered\, and exchanges for other tour times are not permitted. Heavy traffic should be considered when planning your travel time. \nHammond Castle Museum member discounts apply! DESCRIPTION:Experience Halloween magic at Hammond Castle Museum’s beloved Trick-or-Treat\, now in its 8th season. This enchanting adventure takes young ghosts and goblins across our drawbridge\, through winding corridors\, and into the majestic Great Hall. With multiple game stations\, spooky music\, a small craft & a scavenger hunt\, it’s perfect for family fun! \n*Please note: Strollers and oversized baby carriers are not allowed in the Museum. \nThis ticket grants you access to the Trick-or-Treat program. At the time of this event\, the Museum will be closed to tours. If you wish to tour Hammond Castle Museum on the day of the ticketed event\, Self-Guided Tour tickets may be purchased in the Museum Shop at a 20% discount. The last tours begin at 2:30 pm. Proof of purchase of the Trick or Treat event will be required. Little ones four and under are welcome free on Guided and Self-Guided Tours. \nAll proceeds from this program will support the restoration and preservation of the Museum.
