The Tavern on the Green at the Hawthorne Hotel welcomes guests from across the globe, as well as its beloved locals from across the Common, to relax in a cozy atmosphere. The wood-burning fireplace, oak-paneled walls, and winged back chairs make it one of Salem’s most inviting restaurants. We are perfect for families, couples, solo travelers, locals and visitors. The menu offers a variety of fresh New England pub-style foods with options for kids, gluten-free and vegans. Our full bar includes rotating local draft beers and award-winning cocktails served by our veteran, hospitable staff. Complimentary on-site parking is available.

The Tavern is following state guidelines to ensure your dining experience is safe. Our staff can help you feel comfortable by offering you seating options like our spacious Ballroom, with high ceilings and fresh air. Per orders from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, masks must be worn when not eating. Alcoholic beverages must be enjoyed with a meal. Tables are restricted to a maximum of six (6) guests from the same household or bubble and visits are limited to 90 minutes.
